2.Metal-Matrix Composites: For example, aluminum-based composites incorporate reinforcements such as ceramic particles and carbon fibers into an aluminum matrix. Hot-pressing sintering yields high-strength, high-modulus, and low-density metal-matrix composites, which are used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
3.Refractory Metals and Alloys: Refractory metals such as tungsten (W) and molybdenum (Mo) and their alloys, due to their high melting points, can be densified and formed at relatively low temperatures using hot-pressing sintering. These materials are used to manufacture components such as electron tube filaments and high-temperature furnace heaters.
